Other things to consider when documenting AT on the IEP

The IEP team should also consider whether the AT is needed in the home environment, for example to support access to homework. If YES, is training needed with the parent prior to the tool going home? 

The team may also want to consider whether the student will be making any transitions in setting or location over the course of the next year. This is often an area where things fall through the cracks! Consider how information about the AT tools will be relayed to new staff, how it will be moved and set up, and any training needs for new staff.
