Benay Loftus, administradora del programa, Antelope Valley SELPA
Benay Loftus es la administradora del programa SELPA del Valle de Antelope y obtuvo sus maestrías en Psicología y Liderazgo Educativo en 1993 y 2003, respectivamente, de la Universidad Estatal de California en Northridge. Inició su carrera en el Distrito Escolar de Lancaster como psicóloga escolar, donde trabajó durante nueve años antes de convertirse en administradora en 2002. Posteriormente, trabajó once años más en el Distrito Escolar de Lancaster como administradora de educación especial y educación infantil temprana, antes de asumir la administración de SELPA en 2013, donde brinda apoyo a los diez distritos miembros de SELPA del Valle de Antelope. Forma parte de la Junta Ejecutiva de Administradores de SELPA de California y representa a la organización como enlace con la Asociación de Administradores Escolares de California (ACSA). Además, actualmente es copresidenta del Comité de Reconsideración de Tarifas para Escuelas No Públicas de SELPA del Área Metropolitana de Los Ángeles (GLAAS).
Debra Rondeau, especialista en tecnología de asistencia, Antelope Valley SELPA
Debra Rondeau es especialista en tecnología de asistencia para Antelope Valley SELPA. Inició su carrera como maestra de varias materias y luego se dedicó a la educación especial como maestra de educación física adaptada. Tras desarrollar una gran pasión por los estudiantes con necesidades especiales, trabajó como especialista en discapacidad ortopédica, ayudando a los estudiantes a acceder físicamente a su entorno educativo, antes de convertirse en especialista en tecnología de asistencia. Como especialista en tecnología de asistencia de SELPA, la Sra. Rondeau apoya a los distritos miembros, organiza el desarrollo profesional en las áreas de tecnología de asistencia y comunicación aumentativa y alternativa (CAA), realiza evaluaciones complejas de tecnología de asistencia, supervisa el equipo de baja incidencia y colabora con los distritos para mejorar las prácticas y los resultados de los estudiantes con discapacidades en las áreas de diseño universal y tecnología de asistencia.
Jaime Tate-Symons, Executive Director, North Inland SELPA
Jaime Tate-Symons is the Executive Director of the North Inland SELPA (NISER). Throughout her career, she has threaded her passion of Assistive Technology in her educational background and in her work supporting students, parents, and schools/districts. Her first work in the AT field involved the development of a writing lab for her middle school students who were English Language Learners with disabilities where she incorporated a grant funded assistive technology software suite to remove barriers and increase opportunities for inclusion. Jaime is honored to be part of the statewide wide efforts in both AT and AAC.
Audrey Weed, Coordinator, North Inland SELPA
Audrey Weed M.A., CCC-SLP, is a coordinator for the North Inland Special Education Region (NISER) SELPA. She started her career as an Augmentative and Alternative Communication/Assistive Technology (AAC/AT) specialist and has cultivated a passion for developing teams who can confidently use assistive technologies with their students. As the SELPA coordinator, Ms. Weed supports AAC/AT teams, coordinates alternative dispute resolution processes, organizes professional development, and collaborates with districts in improving practices and outcomes for students with disabilities.
Marci Zeppegno, Gerente de Programa, Oficina de Educación del Condado de Humboldt
Marci Zeppegno es Gerente de Programas de Servicios de Prevención e Intervención en la Oficina de Educación del Condado de Humboldt. En este puesto, apoya a los distritos escolares en la transformación del clima escolar. Es capacitadora y coach en Diseño Universal para el Aprendizaje (DUA), capacitadora certificada por el Instituto Internacional de Prácticas Restaurativas (IIRP), capacitadora y coach en Apoyo al Comportamiento Positivo en las Escuelas (PBIS), y Líder Regional 1 y coach certificada para el Sistema de Apoyo Multinivel de California (CA MTSS). Anteriormente, trabajó durante más de veinte años como especialista en educación con estudiantes desde preescolar hasta bachillerato. Obtuvo su Maestría en Educación en Cal Poly Humboldt.

Jennifer Hicks, Associate Superintendent of Educational Services, Placer County Office of Education
Jennifer Hicks is the Associate Superintendent of Educational Services for the Placer County Office of Education. Ms. Hicks oversees the Early Learning, Equity Innovation and Support, and Leadership and Learning Collaborative departments at PCOE. Ms. Hicks holds a BA in Liberal Studies from CSU, Sacramento and an MS in Educational Leadership from Walden University. She successfully integrates a framework for improvement and implementation science into professional learning, coaching and leadership practices. She designs and implements programs and services that promote research-based school improvement practices and serves the diverse needs of students. Ms. Hicks is a WestEd Equity Accelerator Fellow and has a passion for ensuring equity and creating sustainable systems change.
Kathryn Ferreira, Executive Director of Educational Innovation and Support
As the Executive Director of Educational Innovation and Support at Placer County Office of Education, Kathryn Ferreira’s role includes working with districts on Differentiated Assistance, state and federal programs, and Curriculum and Instruction. Prior to joining the COE, Kathryn was a Principal, Vice Principal, instructional coach, professional development provider, and teacher. Her experience at school sites targeted building sustainable systems for MTSS, supporting the whole child, providing instructional leadership, and building capacity through effective Professional Learning Communities. Her school reform approach focused on the system, including creative and systematic approaches to addressing the needs of underserved and marginalized students.
